(9/04/07 - KTRK/FT. BEND COUNTY, TX) (KTRK) -- We're learning new information about a story we first broke on Eyewitness News Sunday night -- a Houston Texans player who was robbed in his own home. It happened in a gated community of Fort Bend County, where they don't investigate a lot of crimes like this.
It turns out Dunta Robinson was not home alone the entire time the robbers were there. His girlfriend and two small children were also victimized by the robbers. As unusual as all this might sound, authorities say this was by no means a random attack.
While violent crime behind the gates of Commanders Point is almost unheard of, authorities say there was nothing random about Saturday's home invasion at a posh million dollar mansion. The home is owned by Dunta Robinson, defensive back for the Houston Texans.
Fort Bend County Sheriff Milton Wright said, "He was targeted. They told him, 'We found you now because we followed you before, and so we'll find you again.' Or something like that."
The two suspects spent 10 minutes tying Robinson up, then ransacked the place before they encountered his girlfriend and two small children. They had just returned home from shopping.
"They go up to the door -- they stuffed him in the closet, saying 'come here' and put him in the closet and shut the door -- and then they were gone," Sheriff Wright explained.
Sheriff's deputies say the men took off with seven gold necklaces in a white GMC Envoy that had no license plates. While no one has been caught, Sienna Plantation homeowners say in spite of everything, they believe Saturday's armed robbery at Robinson's home was an isolated incident.
Resident Jerry Bishop said, "I don't think anybody's going to target this area -- the accessibility to it, the fact that we're patrolled so heavily by the sheriff's department."
"I think everybody should raise their concern, but I think all in all, this community is a safe community," said resident Derrick Frazier.
The attack happened around 3pm Saturday afternoon, but Robinson did not notify the authorities until several hours later, reportedly out of fear. We're told he was scared the suspects would come back. The suspects had told him if he reported the crime to authorities they would return to kill him and his family.
The Houston Texans have no comment on this incident. Robinson did not return our phone calls.
Anyone with information about this armed robbery should call Ft. Bend County Crime Stoppers at 281-342-TIPS.
