Two men in U-Haul lead police on wild chase

Thursday, September 13, 2007

A wild police chase ended in a crash on the north side overnight.

<!--html1--> It all started at U-Haul store on Spring Cypress at the North Freeway. Police say it was just after 1am when they noticed a U-Haul truck pulling out. They thought it was bit unusual since it was so early. When they tried to pull the truck over, the driver took off.

The chase lasted about 20 minutes and came to an end near Little York. Police were able to stop the truck by throwing out spikes. The truck lost control and smashed into a barrier.

Police had both suspects on the ground. Police say they think the U-Haul was stolen. <!--/p>

"We're trying to get the owner of the vehicle," said Lt. Randy Tunches with the Harris County Sheriff's Office. "The charges right now are evading a motor vehicle."-->

The suspects may have had some head injuries. They were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
