Police arrest several in parking lot thefts at Hobby Airport

Monday, October 01, 2007

Several men are in jail in connection with dozens of break-ins and thefts in the parking garage at Hobby Airport.

A security officer at Hobby Airport noticed suspicious activity early Sunday morning and notified police. The men are accused of both breaking into cars and stealing tires and rims from the cars. Passengers who leave their cars in the garage for days were relieved to learn of the arrests.

"You just have to trust it's going to be okay. What can you do? You're gone," said traveler Julie Traina.

A spokesperson for the Houston Airport System says up to a dozen men could be involved in the crimes. Police are looking for more suspects.
