Driver slams into restaurant on Alabama

  

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Some diners at the State Grill got quite the shock when a man smashed his car into the building.

"Everybody was pretty startled," said manager John Mandola. "It was just a big bang."

Investigators say the driver was speeding down Alabama near Weslayan when he lost control, jumped a curb and smashed his car in between a tree and the State Grill.

The driver had to be cut out of the vehicle and he was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
