Man allegedly sets house on fire during standoff

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- A SWAT team dealt with a standoff involving a man who allegedly set his Montgomery County home on fire.

Last night, sheriff's deputies responded to a domestic call from a woman on Scenic Knoll and Climbing Tree. She told authorities her husband barricaded himself and their two children in the home. Hours went by as a SWAT team tried to talk to the man.

Investigators say he later called dispatchers, telling them he doused the home with gasoline. The back of the home then went up in flames.

The man and the children escaped. He has been arrested. The children and mother are OK.
