Brandon Backe's mug shot released

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- We're getting our first look at injuries suffered by Astros pitcher Brandon Backe during a scuffle with police in Galveston over the weekend.

Galveston police released Backe's mug shot Thursday. You can see he has scrapes on his face. Backe was part of a wedding party which got into a struggle with officers at the San Luis H2O bar.

Eyewitnesses claim police used excessive force. Backe's attorney has contacted the U.S. attorney's office.
