Deputies and officers with Houston and Pearland Police chased the pickup up Highway 288, then along Loop 610. The pursuit ended in a crash off the South Loop at Roe.

Deputies say the man saw that a driver had left his keys in the pickup, so he jumped in and took off. They say the first deputy who spotted the truck was critical in making the arrest.

Sgt. Buck Henson with the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office explained, "He continued to follow the vehicle, he was continuing to let us know where he was, and the roads he was following and where he was going."

Deputies tackled the man after he got out of the crashed pickup, and took him into custody. No one was hurt in the chase.
