GALVESTON, TX (KTRK) -- State officials say Galveston Bay, East Bay, West Bay and Trinity Bay are cleaner now than they were before Hurricane Ike.
The Texas Land Commission says more than 30,000 cubic yards of debris were removed from the bays, including refrigerators, ambulances and 124 sunken boats.
The cost for the cleanup was about $14 million, which officials say is millions less than they initially estimated.
