HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Three bayous have breached their banks across Houston as a line of severe thunderstorms moved through overnight.

[PHOTOS: See flooding images]According to Heather Saucier at the Harris County Flood Control, Spring Creek was out of its banks at Hagar. Cypress Creek is over its banks at Cypresswood and South Mayde Creek is overflowing near Greenhouse.
Parts of the Bear Creek Village subdivision in northwest Houston flooded because the drainage system couldn't handle the downpour. The water got so high it entered two homes on Hickory Grove near Birchvale last night. A car in the driveway was also flooded.
A few blocks away, a man and his wife got stranded when they tried to drive through high water."We made it through some deep water," said stranded driver Paul Bollheimer. "I should have pulled off of the road onto somebody's driveway, but I didn't. And I didn't realize this was a real deep hole and I turned left at the post office and come here. Pretty soon I realized we were floating."
The flooding also blew out an underground transformer, leaving a dozen homes without power.
West Road saw a few problems as well. Street flooding at West and 290 has led police to divert traffic onto the feeder. Some trees are down in the area as well. Eastbound West Road also has patches of flooding, so drivers should be cautious.
There was also high water in other parts of the city. The water was high on Clay Road near Pine Forest. There was also high water reported on Saums and Barker Cypress. Most of those areas have started to drain.
