SUGAR LAND, TX (KTRK) -- A man and his daughter became robbery victims in their own driveway in Ft. Bend County Wednesday night, deputies say, and the suspect is still on the loose.
It was around 7:30pm when the 53-year-old man and his 12-year-old daughter got out of a vehicle in the driveway of their Sugar Land home. That's when they say they were approached by an armed man. According to the victims, the suspect told the pair to "shut up" and asked what they had in a grocery bag.
Deputies say the man threw a bag of groceries he had and his wallet on the driveway. That's when the suspect told him to lie down, and the victim complied. At some point, the victim says the suspect hit him in the head and face with his gun.
Deputies say the suspect then tried to get into the victims' home, but was scared away by a barking dog inside. The 12-year-old girl, who had been hiding behind a fence, was noticed by the suspect. She says the suspect told her he'd shoot her if she made a sound and that he'd shoot the dog if it didn't stop barking.
The suspect, who got away on foot, is described as a black male between the ages of 16 to 25 years of age, 6'02" to 6'04" in height, weighing between 185 to 200 pounds. He's described as having an athletic build. The suspect's clothing was described as being dark colored clothing. The pants worn by the suspect had a single stripe running down the pant leg.
Because he was on foot, officials with the Ft. Bend County Sheriff's Office believe he lives in the area.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers At 281-342-TIPS (8477). Information leading to an arrest could lead to up to a $5,000 reward.
