Surveillance video released after alleged assault

  

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A man picking up camping supplies was shot during a botched robbery in a Wal-Mart parking lot Friday night in north Harris County.

The man pulled his truck and camper into the parking lot of the store on the North Sam Houston Parkway East at Mesa just before 11pm. He was sitting in the truck when a man with a gun approached and demanded money and anything else he had. The victim was getting out of the truck when the robber shot him.

The robber escaped, but surveillance video did record the vehicle police say the suspect was in. To view that video, click play on the video above.

The victim was taken to the hospital in serious, but stable condition.
