There's been a collision involving METRO's light rail.

The accident happened at around 3:45pm on Main at St. Joseph Parkway in downtown Houston. A METRO bus collided with the train, causing it to derail. METRO officials say they believe the bus ran the red light.

Twelve people, including the bus driver, have been taken to area hospitals. None of the injuries are said to be life-threatening.

METRO says it has implemented a bus bridge from the Downtown Transit Center to the UH-Downtown station, and they are single-tracking northbound and southbound rail travel out of the Downtown transit center.
