FEMA trailer residents may soon have to pay rent

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

FEMA says people living in those government provided trailers since Hurricane Ike may soon have to start paying rent.

The Galveston County Daily News is reporting that the first rent payments will be due on April 1. People could be charged up to $1,600 a month to stay in the mobile homes.

FEMA says the rate is based on estimates from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
