HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston woman remains jailed hundreds of miles away. She's accused of contempt in a case involving missing money and vanishing gold.
ABC 13 learned Janice Stanton Hines has been fired from her job with the Houston Health Department. In December, she left for Detroit. A judge there is holding her in contempt of court, until she returns about $500,000 in cash and gold. Hines' sister claims she stole it from their elderly mother. She's suing Hines in civil court here in Houston. The case is also in probate court in Detroit.
