Sugar Land decided on this location for its new minor league baseball stadium.
SUGAR LAND, TX (KTRK) -- The Sugar Land City Council chose the location for the city's new minor league baseball stadium.
The new stadium will go up at Highway 90 and Highway 6 near Sugar Land Regional Airport. Sugar Land will pay $30 million of the $40 million needed to build the facility. The city hopes to break ground on the stadium within the year. The three finalists for the team name are King Canes, the Lizard Kings and the Skeeters.
