Construction plans announced for Sugar Land stadium

SUGAR LAND, TX (KTRK) -- Sugar Land is one step closer to getting a minor league baseball team.

The City of Sugar Land announced it plans to begin construction on the new stadium next spring, between Highway 90 and Highway 6, near the Sugar Land Regional Airport.

Two drawings of the possible stadium design were released last week. A final design contractor for the project will be named in January.

The name and logo for the team will be unveiled next Wednesday.
