HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Investigators say a man was stabbed several times right in front of witnesses outside of Club Blur on Pacific in the Montrose area.
The neighborhood, deep in the heart of Montrose, was bustling with activity. Investigators say what happened here was not a robbery or a hate crime. They're looking into the possibility that it may have been a crime of passion. Friends say Aaron Scheerhorn had a troubled past. They believe last night it may have caught up with him. "Aaron was straightening out his life and he was trying to become a better person," said one friend. Police say late Friday night, someone stabbed the 28-year-old, then chased him to the parking lot of a popular Montrose area club where he continued to attack him. "The suspect actually pursued him to the front steps of the club here and, in front of numerous patrons here, just commenced to stabbing him numerous times," said Sgt. Eli Cisneros of the Houston Police Department. Investigators say they have plenty of witnesses who can identify the suspect. What they need now is a name to match. Neighbors say for it to happen right across the street is nerve-wracking, to say the least. "There's a girl four condos down that has a child," said one neighbor. "What if I was getting out of the car with my children?" wondered another. On this blustery December night, five of Scheerhorn's friends left a balloon and a plant with a simple message -- "Aaron, we love you and miss you." "He was a sweet, kind, good hearted, big hearted individual. Wonderful man," said friend Al Samano. At this point investigators have a good description of the suspect, they just need someone to come forward and tell them his name. If you know who he is call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS or HPD's Homicide division at 713-308-3600.
