KINGWOOD, TX (KTRK) -- Fire crews were called out to a house on fire in the Kingwood area early this morning.
The flames were coming from a home on Knoll Manor at Highland Laurels. Fire crews say the couple who lives there thought they had put out a fire pit in their back yard. But a few embers fell onto the wood patio. Hours later it caught the side of the home on fire.The couple, who had fallen asleep, did make it out safely. Fire crews quickly put out the flames which had spread to the attic when they arrived.
