Boat captain spots dead body on shore

BAYTOWN, TX (KTRK) -- Police are investigating the death of a man found near the water in Baytown.

On Saturday at about 1pm, Baytown police received a call from a tugboat captain who was working in Cedar Bayou. The captain reported that he and his crew observed what they believed to be a possible deceased person on the shoreline.

Officers responded and found the body of a deceased black male with obvious signs of foul play. They won't elaborate on what those signs may be. Few details are known about the identity of the victim and the case is being investigated as a homicide.
