CHANNELVIEW, TX (KTRK) -- We have an update to a story we first brought you last month. There's a setback for a mother who wanted a popular children's book removed from a Channelview ISD library.
Tammy Harris had filed a complaint, asking for the 'Adventures of Super Diaper Baby' to be removed from the library at Brown Elementary School. She said it contained the same kind of language that her son used and got suspended for last year. A committee rejected Harris' complaint and the book remains at the school. Channelview ISD released a statement, saying in part, "A parent/complainant may appeal the decision of the reconsideration committee in accordance with the school district complaint policy."
