A grandmother helped her daughter give birth to a baby boy in the parking lot of a Denny's restaurant
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A grandmother helped bring her new grandbaby into this world in the back of a Denny's restaurant in southwest Houston last night.
It happened outside the restaurant near the Southwest Freeway and Hillcroft. An officer writing a ticket in the parking lot was alerted by a man driving a pickup. The officer walked to the truck and in the cab saw a woman giving birth. Her own mother was helping her deliver the newborn.
The cop helped the new grandparents stay calm.
The new mother and her baby were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
