HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Several Houston-area communities are keeping true to their tradition and hosting Fourth of July events that include fireworks
Below is a complied list of some July 4th festival locations around the Houston area.Houston The city of Houston will be hosting its annual Southwest Airlines Freedom Over Texas featuring Billy Currington and Sara Evans presented by Reliant on July 4. The show will feature performances by performances by country music super stars Billy Currington and Sara Evans. Other attractions include The Freedom Market, The Bud Zone featuring the Texas Volleyball Championship, and The Walmart All-American Kid's Zone featuring free rides and attractions for the kids. A special highlight is Liberty Park, Symbols of Freedom, which offers the unique opportunity to experience displays of military artifacts and vehicles!
General admission to the Freedom Over Texas celebration is $8 per person, but discounted tickets are available.
Houston Symphony The Houston Symphony will be hosting its ExxonMobil Summer Symphony Nights - Star-Spangled Salute at the Miller Outdoor Theatre. It starts at 8:30pm and will last until 10:30pm.
Friendswood The city of Friendswood is hosting a day full of events. It starts at 10am with a parade that travels down Friendswood Drive and will last until nighttime, concluding with a choreographed fireworks show that starts at 9:20pm.
Katy The city of Katy will be hosting its July 4th Freedom Celebration & Fireworks Show at 9pm at Katy Mills Mall. The fireworks are launched between the east side of the mall and Katy Fort Bend Road and can be seen from several miles around the mall area.
Katy -- Cinco Ranch Go to LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch for the July 4th BIG Backyard Barbecue. It starts at 5:30pm and includes live entertainment, great food, events for the kids and a fabulous fireworks display.
Kemah Boardwalk The Kemah Boardwalk will be holding its "Star-Spangled Sky Fireworks Celebration." For more information, visit the Kemah Boardwalk website.
Kemah The city of Kemah will be having its Spirit of Volunteerism's Independence Day Parade will begin at 10am at the Visitors Center. The city also will have a fireworks display at 9:30pm.
Kingwood
The Kingwood Town Center will be hosting a series of events between 2 and 9pm. Entertainers Mark Linabury and DJ KW will perform from 2-6pm. Then Andy Rodrigues and Harmony Groove will play from 6-9pm. The event will finish with a fireworks display.

Missouri City Missouri City's Fourth of July celebrations will begin at 6pm at Buffalo Run Park and will include free activities like moonwalks, a rock wall and mechanical bulls. The fireworks show will begin at about 9:15pm.
Nassau Bay Nassau Bay will be hosting its July 4th Patriotic Day Parade at 6:30pm at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 18220 Upper Bay Road. A fireworks display will start around 9pm at Nassau Bay Park, Upper Bay Road. For more information, call 281-333-4211 or visit www.nassaubay.com.
Pearland The city of Pearland will be hosting a full day of events at the Pearland High School Football Stadium, 3775 South Main. It starts at 2pm, when the carnival opens. Gates open at 6pm and fireworks begin at 9pm. Admission is free. For more information, visit the city's website.
Rosenberg The city of Rosenberg will host its Family 4th Celebration at 6pm at Seabourne Creek Nature Park, 3831 Highway 36 South. This free event will include horse drawn wagon rides through the park, a carnival area for the kids, food vendors with a taste for everyone, exhibits by the Rosenberg Railroad Museum and the Master Naturalists, live music by the Michael Dahl Band, and the largest fireworks display in Fort Bend County. Sugar Land Head to Oyster Creek Park for the city of Sugar Land's July 4th celebrations. The Red, White and Bluefest will include a variety of events, including live music and a fireworks display.
Webster The city of Webster will hold its Fourth of July Celebration at 5pm at the Texas Avenue Park. A fireworks display will begin at 9:05pm. For more information, visit www.webster-tx.com.
The Woodlands The Woodlands has an entire day of activities planned for Fourth of July. It starts with a parade at 9am at Grogan's Mill Road and Lake Woodlands Drive and ends at dusk with a fireworks display at The Woodlands Town Center.
