HOUSTON (KTRK) -- As districts across the area prepare to return to school in the coming weeks, preparations are in full gear. For instance, today, HISD is testing its training with a disaster drill for bus drivers.
The drill starts at 9am at the bus barn on Pinemont. The drivers and bus attendants will pretend a school bus has overturned, an older bus has been flipped on its side for the training.
Drivers will have to evacuate students and practice first aid. They will also be expected to be aware of suspicious objects and practice their pre-trip and post-trip bus inspections.
