HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Tire thieves were almost caught by a wrecker driver this morning in north Houston.
Around 3am, a sharp-eyed tow truck driver spotted men throwing tires over a fence at the Best Buy Auto Sales lot on the North Freeway and Witcher.
The tire thieves spotted the wrecker driver and took off with four pricey tires they swiped from a GMC Yukon.
Police think they might have stolen nearly every tire on the lot if the wrecker driver hadn't spotted them and called police.
