Victim found dead in ditch in NE Houston

  

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are investigating after a victim was found dead on the side of a road in northeast Houston.

Around 7am, officers were investigating what appeared to be an accident on Peachtree at Cruse. Instead, they discovered a truck in the ditch on one side of the street, and a victim shot to death in the opposite ditch.

Neighbors told police they heard several shots fired earlier in the morning.

The victim has been identified as Dameon Johnson, 36. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
