Fire burns Woodlands retirement home

Authorities have extinguised a two-alarm fire that erupted at a retirement home in The Woodlands Wednesday evening.

The fire erupted sometime around 8:20pm at the Forum in the 5000 block of West Panther Creek Drive. Authorities believe a transformer may be have started it.

No one was injured in the fire, but about 75 residents were evacuated because the building has no power. However, power is expected to be restored to them before sunrise.

Montgomery County firefighters also assisted at the scene.

No other details were immediately available.
