HOUSTON (KTRK) -- What's Earth look like from Saturn? We're about to find out!
On Friday, Cassini, the NASA spacecraft exploring Saturn, will take a picture of our home planet from a distance of nearly 900 million miles.
The photo will be taken between 4:27pm and 4:42pm CST, and NASA is encouraging everyone to stop and wave at the sixth planet from the sun as the portrait is being taken.
Scientists say in the picture, Earth will appear as a small, pale blue dot between Saturn's rings, which will be part of a mosaic, or multi-image portrait, of the Saturn system.
To follow any developments of the event, use the Twitter hashtag #waveatsaturn or join the Wave at Saturn Facebook event page, or the Flickr group.
