The Walker County Sheriff has now publicly identified the victim found dumped in Sam Houston National Forest as a 16-year-old boy. Josael Guevara was a 10th grader at Klein Forest High School.

Sheriff Clint McRae showed us Guevara's student ID. He says it was found on Guevara's body on Monday in Walker County. An anonymous caller dialed 911 and told investigators he found what appeared to be a body in the Sam Houston National Forest in the 500 block of FM 2929.

Upon arrival, deputies found Guevara's body. Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace James Mature tells me Guevara was "mutilated," with cuts all over his body. He called it a horrific scene.

The Walker County Sheriff's Office has arrested Cristian Zamora, 22, in this case. He was located nearby after detectives located some very important evidence at the scene near the body.

Sheriff McRae explained, "While processing the scene, there was an article of evidence that obviously had fallen out of the suspect vehicle during the episode. That information actually led us to locating the suspect vehicle and the suspect in this case."

Zamora is in the Walker County Jail. His bond set at $1 million. Investigators say they have some idea what might have motivated the murder, but they are not yet willing to tell us because there may be other suspects.

Investigators say they do not believe this case will be tied to any other murders in Walker County.

Counselors will be on hand at Klein Forest to talk to grieving students.
