An employee of a Houston cat adoption agency is accused of taking a bribe in exchange for giving credit to a probationer for community service hours never performed.

According to court documents, Andrea Ann Jenkins, 46, supervised probationers who performed community service hours at Adopt-A-Cat, a non-profit cat adoption agency, which has a contract with Harris County Community Supervision and Corrections Department.

An investigator with the district attorney's office says that Jenkins offered to give three days credit to a probationer for hours she didn't have to work, in exchange for $80. The probationer reported the offer to her probation officer and an investigation was launched, according to court documents.

Investigators say the probationer returned to the agency and paid Jenkins the money and the probationer received 12.5 hours credit for community service never performed.

Jenkins was charged with bribery and is jailed. Her bond is set at $20,000.
