Man critically injured after driving into pile of steel girders in NW Harris County
Investigators say a flatbed truck with a load of steel girders hanging off the back was in reverse, when the driver of an SUV hit it.
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A crash in northwest Harris County nearly caused a man to lose his life.
Deputies say the man drove right into some steel girders on FM 529 near Paddock Bend Drive.
A big rig was hauling the girders and was in the process of backing out when the man slammed into them. The impact of the crash tore off the driver's side of the man's SUV and he was critically injured.
But it's not yet clear if the driver of the big rig will face any charges.
