Sen. Ted Cruz told ABC News he is not seeking the White House in 2016
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Freshman senator Ted Cruz of Texas denies he is eyeing a presidential run in 2016.
In an interview with ABC News, Cruz said he is not focused on running for president. He only wants to bring the direction of the country.
Cruz visited Iowa last week, a state frequented by presidential contenders and he plans to visit New Hampshire in a few weeks.
"The American people, I think, are fed up with politicians in both parties who are digging us deeper into debt and who are together disregarding the Constitution," Cruz said.
Cruz's eligibility for the White House has been questioned, given that he was born in Canada.
