Mavs get at least a week to rest up for next round

LOS ANGELES, CA -- Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks learned all about things to do in early May by getting bounced out of the playoffs pretty quickly the last four seasons.

They've got some down time again this week, only it was earned under the best of circumstances. They've already advanced to the Western Conference finals, and it will take several days to settle who and when they will play next.

Considering the Mavericks have won a franchise-reocrd six straight playoff games, they may not want to risk losing their momentum.

But their roster is loaded with guys in their 30s. So recharging their bodies might be what this teams needs most to gear up for a chance at its first championship.
