One of Texas' 10 most wanted fugitives arrested

AUSTIN, TX (KTRK) -- One of the state's most wanted fugitives is no longer a wanted man, after his arrest in San Antonio yesterday.

Felix Velasquez, Jr., 30, had been one of Texas' 10 most wanted fugitives. According to the Department of Public Safety, he's one of several Texas Mexican Mafia members accused of attacking a man in Padre Island over Spring Break.

Velasquez was arrested by agents wtih the DPS Criminal Investigations Unit. The arrest and search warrants led to the seizure of six handguns, one assault rifle, body armor and various drugs, say DPS officials.

Two other suspected Texas Mexican Mafia members were also arrested with Velasquez.

Velasquez was added to the Most Wanted Fugitive list last month related to the March 17 beating and stabbing incident. Early last month, several other alleged Texas Mexican Mafia members were arrested in the San Antonio area in connection with the attack, but Velasquez had eluded capture until yesterday.
