ADKINS, TX -- A former San Antonio firefighter is being accused by authorities of shooting a man on a bus and then holding off SWAT officers during an hours-long standoff at his home.
Police say Charles Adamson Jr. shot an unidentified man in the jaw on Monday after the two got into an argument on a bus in Adkins, a small town east of San Antonio. Officials did not know the condition of the man who was shot. He was taken to a San Antonio hospital.
The San Antonio Express-News reports Adamson then went back to his home, where he surrendered after the standoff.
The 43-year-old was charged with felony counts of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and the threat of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
