Retail gasoline prices have continued to decline across Texas with the average price at the pump dropping by a nickel this week.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported the average cost for gasoline statewide slipped to $3.11 per gallon. Nationwide gasoline prices are down 3 cents to reach $3.35 per gallon.

The association survey found Fort Worth has the cheapest gasoline at $3.06 per gallon. The Austin-San Marcos area and Amarillo have the highest retail gasoline prices this week at $3.15 per gallon.

Experts say sufficient supplies, a low demand for fuel and the move to cheaper winter-blend gasoline production all contributed to lower retail prices in Texas.
