State Fair of Texas vendors fined, suspended for underage alcohol sales in undercover sting
DALLAS, TX -- A handful of vendors at the State Fair of Texas have been busted for selling alcohol to a teenage girl working undercover.
Seven of more than 70 vendors were snared by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. The Dallas Morning News reports that each of the seven will pay a fine and not be allowed to serve alcohol for two days.
Fair senior vice president Carey Risinger tells the newspaper that each vendor must undergo a TABC certification class and that the fair takes violations "very seriously."
The fair prohibits vendors from selling alcohol after 10 p.m. and restricts customers from buying five beers in a single purchase.
