BELLMEAD, TX -- An elderly woman and her daughter are dead after a vehicle crash in Central Texas.
The Waco Tribune-Herald reported that 85-year-old Mary Jordan of Buffalo and 61-year-old Virginia Olivarez of Mexia were killed when Olivarez's Hyundai collided with an oncoming Ford Taurus. The crash occurred Saturday afternoon on U.S. Highway 84 east of Waco.
Texas Department of Public Safety trooper D.L. Wilson says the Taurus appeared to have veered into the Hyundai's path, possibly due to wet pavement. Much of Central Texas was blanketed by rain Saturday.
The driver and the passenger of the Taurus were both hospitalized.
Wilson says no charges have been filed as of late Saturday.
