Stong winds cause problems across Houston area

Wednesday, April 25, 2007

Strong winds with today's storms caused problems around the Houston area.

There a reports of downed tree limbs and power lines all over town. But according to CenterPoint, less than 2,000 customers were without power early this morning.

Fallen tree branches knocked out power to an entire northeast Houston neighborhood. About 60 homes lost power along Cheeves and Leedale before 11pm. CenterPoint crews went out almost immediately to repair the lines.

The storm ripped a hole in the roof of a home near Granbury. It's unclear whether the damage was from a tornado or high winds. No one was hurt.
