Galveston lifts curfew for nearly entire Island

  

GALVESTON, TX (KTRK) -- The City of Galveston is lifting the curfew for the entire island except for downtown.

The city council made the decision yesterday. The police chief says the restoration of street lights throughout the city on Wednesday made the curfew unnecessary.

The midnight to 5am will remain in effect from 20th to 25th Street and from Harborside to Winnie only.
