Heidi Jones

Heidi Jones
Heidi Jones joined the Eyewitness news team in November of 2005. She anchors our weekend evening weather coverage.

Heidi came to WABC-TV from Houston, Texas where she was the 4pm weather anchor with ABC at KTRK-TV. While in Houston, Heidi won best weathercast in the state of Texas from the Associated Press. She also ran the Houston Marathon while giving the weather forecast. Prior to that Heidi spent two years at WTEN in Albany, New York and one year at KULR-TV in Billings, Montana.

Along the way, she lived in Norway for a year and a half, studying the language and culture of the country. She is well versed on the language and several types of salted fish!

After graduating from Ball State University with a B.A. in Telecommunications and a minor in Spanish, she received a certification in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University.

Heidi grew up in Indiana and is an avid sports fan and participant. If she is not in the forecasting office, she can be found running in Central Park, playing tennis, biking, skiing and just enjoying the tri-state's four seasons.

Each Sunday, weather permitting, you can watch her go live from a different location and do the weather. From running a race in Central Park, to rappelling 80-feet, Heidi has even given a weather forecast in a 16-foot cage with motorcycles overhead.
