Jeff Smith

Jeff joined the Eyewitness News Team in 2007, after serving as a meteorologist at WTEN-TV in Albany, NY. Before that he was Chief Meteorologist at WOAY-TV in Oak Hill, WV.

Jeff is a native of Plymouth, Massachusetts, where blizzards and hurricanes sparked his interest in weather at an early age. He majored in Atmospheric Science at Cornell University, where he received his B.S. in Meteorology. While at Cornell, he began broadcasting weather forecasts for ICTV, the student-run television station at Ithaca College.

Jeff earned the American Meteorological Society's prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation, a professional recognition of the quality of his weather broadcasts.

When he's not in the Channel 7 Weather Center, Jeff can be found at the gym, on the golf course, or just out taking in the New York sights, sounds and great food! He makes his home in Manhattan.
