Phil Lipof

Phil Lipof
Phil Lipof is co-anchor of WABC-TV's popular Eyewitness News Saturday and Sunday Morning.

Phil came to Channel 7 from WHDH-TV in Boston, where he worked as a news anchor and reporter. Before that, he was a morning news anchor and reporter at WFOR-TV in Miami. Phil also worked as an evening news anchor at WRNN, the Regional News Network, based in Kingston, New York and as the morning and noon news anchor at KIDK-TV in Idaho Falls, ID.

An Emmy Award-winning journalist, Phil's extensive reporting has taken him all over the world, traveling to Israel after 9/11 for a special series on terrorism, to Germany to speak with wounded troops and to the Gulf Coast where he reported live on the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina. He's know for landing sought-after interviews with such controversial newsmakers as O.J. Simpson and Simpson murder trial witness Mark Fuhrman, and with Richard Butler, head of the Aryan Nation. He's also been known to get into a story, jumping out of an airplane with the Army's Golden Knights, flying with the Canadian Air Force, and swimming with sharks off the Florida coast.

A native of Newton, MA, Phil holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication and a minor in Writing from Syracuse University. When not reporting the news, he enjoys tennis, playing guitar, working out and, most of all, spending time with his family. Phil, wife Juli and their two children make their home in New Jersey.
