The Long Island Rail Road has resumed normal service Monday after a week of disruptions due to a derailed freight train and a broken rail that suspended service on the Port Washington branch.
Repairs are still ongoing, but Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Saturday that work crews had restored enough of the system for the LIRR to resume a regular schedule.
