New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has signed legislation banning anyone under 17 from using a tanning bed and anyone under 14 from getting a spray tan.
The law prohibits children under the age of 17 from using indoor ultraviolet tanning devices, and those who are 17 need a parent's consent to use a tanning bed.
The version bans indoor tanning by anyone under 16, while 16- and 17-year olds could tan as long as a parent is present when the tanning sessions are purchased.
