VIDEO: My Journey to Washington (CLICK TO WATCH)

About Maya: Maya Pope-Chappell is a freelance writer and multimedia journalist. A California native, Maya moved to New York last year to pursue her passion for journalism and to attend graduate school at CUNY Graduate School of Journalism where she is currently working on a Master of Arts degree. She won tickets to the inauguration after adding her name to a lottery list hosted by Senator Chalres E. Schumer. About 150,000 people applied for the tickets, but she was one of the 300 lucky winners to have won. She is using this opportunity to not only share her personal experience of the inauguration, but to share the stories of those who will be in attendance to witness this pivotal moment in American history.
