The FBI and the National Center for Disaster Fraud (NCDF) have established a telephone hotline to report suspected Haitian earthquake relief fraud. The number is (866) 720-5721. The phone line is staffed by a live operator 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can also e-mail information directly to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Message from the Haitian Consulate of New York
The Consulate General of the Republic of Haiti wants to express its utmost gratitude for the overwhelming response that they have received regarding the disaster in Haiti.
The primary focus is to provide disaster relief to the survivors and continue the search for those who may still be alive.
The Consulate is working along with community leaders, clergy members, community organizations and non-governmental organizations to spearhead a drive to collect basic first aid & rescue relief items and medication for those in dire need.

The State Department has set up a toll-free number to call for information about family members in Haiti: 1-888-407-4747.
Secretary of State Clinton has set up an aid line that people can use to send money to support Haiti relief similar to what was set up to support refugees in Pakistan earlier this year. Cell phone users can text "haiti" to 90999 and $10 will go to relief efforts in Haiti. The $10 will show up on your phone bill.
