Show Description
From the moment you first saw the Red Balls, we know you wanted to run the Wipeout course yourself! (We admit, we did too). Those bounces, smashes and splashes certainly look like a lot of wet fun-and a chance at a $50,000 grand prize as well? Sign us up!
Each week we watch twenty-four newbies-all ages, shapes and sizes, step up to the start of the world's largest extreme obstacle course-all with the confidence that THEY will be named the "Wipeout Champion." Hosts John Anderson and John Henson provide the running commentary as we watch the contestants, and gorgeous Jill Wagner is downside "course-side" giving us all the one-on-one interviews with these crazy-minded folks going for it.
Just to keep it fresh for the third season, there are tons of new qualifier stunts that have been added to the course-including the double cross, the pitch fork, the blob, the smack wall sweeper, the fence flapper, pirate's revenge, the medievil wipeout and more. We're not sure what they all are, but we're sure they'll guarantee brand new splashes. And if the splash or crash isn't enough fun to watch just once, check it out in super slo-mo! Or backwards and forwards. Wowza.
In the end, after being pummeled in the qualifier, thrashed in the second round, plastered in the grueling third set of obstacles, we cheer as the four finalists head for the big kahuna, the Wipeout Zone. And again, for season three-you gotta check it out, a brand new Wipeout Zone. The bright lights, big splashes and even tougher obstacles are jaw dropping. We truly feel for these tired contestants, hoping for our favorite to cross the finish line first, bringing home the title and cash on another week of Wipeout.
