2 teens killed in Conn. car crash

Saturday, November 21, 2009

Two Connecticut teens are dead after one lost control of the car they were inside and struck a tree in Shelton.

Shelton police Det. Sgt. Kevin Ahern said 19-year-old Lawrence Morra of Stratford hit a guard rail while exiting Route 8, then went down an embankment and hit the tree.

Ahern said the crash killed Morra and a front seat passenger, 18-year-old Viviana Cavalli of Shelton. Cavalli was a student at Central Connecticut State University.

A backseat passenger was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not considered life threatening.

Ahern said police are investigating whether speed was a factor in the accident.
