Dog survives gas chamber, ready for adoption

NEW JERSEY (WABC) -- Daniel is a stray dog with a remarkable story of survival that started in a gas chamber in Alabama and has now brought him to New Jersey where he is looking for a new home.

The spunky 5-year-old Beagle along with 17 other dogs were loaded into a gas chamber at an over populated shelter in Alabama.

When the animal control officer returned he was stunned when Daniel walked right out of the chamber.

After that Daniel was given a new lease on life.

Vets examined Daniel and gave him a clean bill of health.

He was brought up to New Jersey by volunteer rescue groups.
