May 16, 2012 (WABC) -- The police evidence in the Trayvon Martin killing is coming out tonight - and it will show some fascinating developments in the case against the shooter, George Zimmerman.
We'll have the latest, tonight at 11.
Also at 11, to get dirty, or campaign cleanly?
What a fascinating conundrum for political candidates.
We're about to find out how the two major party Presidential candidates feel.
A Super PAC - allowed to flourish when the U.S. Supreme Court abolished decades worth of campaign finance laws - run by an arch-conservative, was reportedly contemplating running a series of ads bull-horning the comments of Rev. Jeremiah Wright - remember him? - in an attempt to attack Pres. Obama's connection to the fiery preacher.
But many moderate Republicans are appalled by the notion, and they cite Sen. John McCain's stand against gutter-ads as how candidates should approach the campaign. Of course, other Repubs say that McCain's unwillingness to get dirty in his ads helped cost him the election in 2008.
Hard to prove either case. Which makes all this quite a ball game.
After the brouhaha, the arch-conservative - the founder of TD Ameritrade - said it was just a proposal he was presented with, and he backed off.
The Democrats were also making noise about the dirty pool, but it's worth asking whether they may be secretly wishing for a dirty campaign because so many people think it would hurt, not help, Mitt Romney. After all, who would have been moved by anything having to do with Rev. Wright pre-2008, when all this stuff came out? It might only burnish opposition to Mr. Obama among people who are already voting against him.
I'm just sayin'.
We're also following the reforms from NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly after the court ruling against the department's "stop and frisk" policy. Will these reforms really change things? We'll have the latest at 11.
And Michelle Charlesworth tonight has the 7 most important tips to lose weight, keep weight off, and get yourself in shape.
We'll also have any breaking news of the night, plus Meteorologist Lee Goldberg's AccuWeather forecast, and Rob Powers with the night's sports. I hope you can join Sade Baderinwa and me, tonight at 11.
